Roseline Coffee approached me in need of a new website. Their existing site, while functional, was outdated, difficult to maintain, and contained a lot of technical debt.
Working alongside their graphic designer, I rebuilt the site from the ground up: modernizing the designs, improving the UX, and streamlining the backend systems.
Roseline was in the midst of a bold new brand direction, and they wanted their site to embody this. But before we could dive into the visuals, we needed to establish a new site architecture. Years of miscellaneous updates had made even their small site feel unorganized. Behind the scenes, things were even more tangled.
It's often all-to-easy to focus on the flashy front-end of a site redesign like this. For Roseline, however, streamline the backend was equally as important. Processes such as wholesale ordering, product allotments, custom pricing, and shipping workflows required highly specialized knowledge to manage.
To address all this and more, I took a phased approach:
I took a deep dive into Roseline's needs on the backend. What were their pain points? What was working well? And what did their dream workflows look like?
Once I had an understanding of the backend, I started planning how that would all connect to the frontend to create a seamless experience for both customers and staff alike.
Utilizing the Shopify app ecosystem, I identified and implemented solutions that improved and streamlined systems.
With the core site architecture and functionality in place, I was able to shift my focus to the visuals. Working alongside their brand designer, I helped design and implement the new branding on the website by creating custom templates within Shopify to perfectly match their needs.
In the end, I delivered a highly functional site that looks stunning and is easy for the client to maintain going forward.
David was a true partner on this project, working closely with our team to help our vision become reality. The end result is a website that looks and functions great, with markedly improved user experiences for both customers and administrators.
Overall, I’m very pleased with how the project came out and Roseline has received countless compliments on the look and flow of the new site, both from customers and wholesale accounts. While I unfortunately don't have access to quantitative metrics, the qualitative remarks that have been shared say a lot about the success of this project.
Visit the site below to see how it all turned out. And if you're a fan of good coffee, maybe pick up a bag or two. I'm partial to the Kenya Karatu PB at the moment, but you really can't go wrong with any of their beans.
